Bank Holiday Charity Party Sunday 1st May 2011 – Taking you way back!

ISG member, Laura Levy, has organised an event to mark the start of summer whilst fundraising for the Ichthyosis Support Group. Laura’s son Mekhi was born last year with ichthyosis and soon after Laura began campaigning to raise awareness and funds to help support those affected by the condition and to aid research into this rare condition.
Bank Holiday Party – Sunday 1st May
Bliss Nightclub, Hitchin, Hertfordshire
Laura says “On 31st July 2010, my much anticipated son, Mekhi Barbour entered the world and to my complete shock, was covered in a thick layer of tight skin which stretched his facial features. He also had gashes around his neck, wrists and ankles. Yes, he was a collodion baby and later diagnosed as having Lamellar Ichthyosis.
After the initial shock and acceptance of my son’s condition, I decided that if I couldn’t cure him, I would do all I could to make his life and others like him, as easy as I could.
I therefore decided to start fundraising for the Ichthyosis Support Group (ISG) as well as cure research. ISG do a fantastic job and have been a massive support to me. As the government do not provide funding for either of the above, I’d like to make it my role to do so.
The next event is a club night at Bliss night club in Hitchin, Hertfordshire and all proceeds are for the ISG.
If you live close, come and support”.
Please support Laura’s event. All wlecome!
