"My godson Thomas has Bullous Ichthyosis (BIE). His skin is extremely dry and it can be torn off from the slightest knock. He has to be creamed many times per day.
The Ichthyosis Support Group helps kids like Thomas and his family by sending regular newsletters updating him on the latest news and research about Ichthyosis but more importantly, introducing him to other sufferers and their families at their National Days and Fundays. It is very important for Thomas to know he is not alone with this condition"

“When I was filming City Hospital, I met a young ichthyosis sufferer. Like most people I had never heard of this terrible skin condition. The Ichthyosis Support Group (ISG) is a charity run by sufferers for sufferers and does tremendous work, raising awareness and funds for research. One of the most important services they provide is regular opportunities for sufferers to meet others with the same conditions, relieving their sense of isolation. For some, when they come to an ISG day it is the first time in their lives they have felt that they truly belong. Now that I know how many different types of ichthyosis there are, and how devastating and painful some of the rare forms can be, I have decided to support the ISG. Please join me in supporting them, so that effective treatments and cures can soon be found for these debilitating conditions”
