Robbie Fowler, ex Liverpool FC player is Godfather to Thomas Calvey who has Bullous ichthyosis.  Robbie decided some time ago to organise an event to raise awareness of ichthyosis and funds for the ISG.

Formby Hall Golf Club, near Liverpool hosted Robbie’s Charity Golf Day for ichthyosis which involved 21 teams consisting of past and present players including Steven Gerrard, Daniel Agger, Albert Riera, Dirk Kuyt, Kenny Dalgleish, Alan Kennedy, Jason McAteer and Gary McAllister.  The rounds of golf were followed by an auction and dinner where the bidding was amazing for some fantastic prizeswhich included signed Liverpool FC memorabilia and a weekend away with Steven Gerrard at Loch Lomond to play a four-ball  round of golf which generated the largest bid!

Robbie said “I could not be more pleased that we have managed to raise a large amount and I want to say a big thank you to everyone who donated.”

Willie Miller, Radio Merseyside DJ and after dinner speaker not only worked extremely hard compering the evening but also pulled the whole event together.  Also supporting the evening was Comedian John Bishop who entertained the guests following the 3 course meal.

Mandy, Trustee from the ISG was delighted to attend (and to mix with the stars) to speak briefly about ichthyosis and the ISG, and to have the opportunity of personally thanking Robbie and his very good friend’s Stephen and Lisa Calvey, ISG members for staging the event for ichthyosis. The event was amazing raising just over £30,000!
