On Sunday the 27th April 2008 the first of the British Skin Foundation walks had arrived
At 8.30am the weather looked good and we set out. I arrived with my mother-in-law at Regents Park at 10.30am with the stand, helium, balloons, donated bunny ears and lollipops.
The British Skin Foundation had set everything up and we were allocated a stand by the band facing the entrance,
Our red and white colours stood out perfectly and it was easy to spot our members and equally, they found it easy to locate us.

The Pollard and Spiers families were the first to arrive all very enthusiastic about the walk followed by Ray Rowley and his family, Dr Edel O’Toole, Professor Kelsell and his family, Jean Robinson, Peter Lovell his family and friends, Livia Tabone and her friend Becky, Josephine Winter and her friends.

The day was very relaxed and in true English fashion it starting raining just as the walk started.
Stephen Winter and his children arrived late due to work problems but set out after the group in the rain.
Helen Coughlan a member came along and said hello.
After about an hour they all returned and sheltered in the tent, chatting happily and watching the clown. Everybody received a goody bag from the British Skin Foundation.
It was lovely to meet old friends and new faces
WELL DONE EVERYBODY
During the walk my mother in law fell ill and had to return to the tent, I would like to give a big thank you to Ray, the St. John’s ambulance ladies, the doctor on the walk and the members of the Vitiligo Society that helped. She is feeling a lot better and will be visiting her local doctor.
