As most of my friends will be aware, my big brother Paul was born with a rare skin condition, called Ichthyosis. Subsequently both his children, Harry (19) and Charlotte (17) also inherited the condition. We also found out in 2020 that we had a long lost cousin Jennie, who also has the condition.
There is no cure and unlike other more common conditions Ichthyosis does not have the same awareness levels or receive the same amount of funding.
This year is ISGs 25th anniversary and they are aiming to raise £25,000 and I would like to do my bit to help towards that target.
I will be aiming to walk 250 miles before the end of Ichthyosis Awareness month which is in May, with a mixture of using the treadmill, dog walks and in walks in Lanzarote when we go away at the end of April for three weeks.
My aim is to raise £250 to add to their target - so just £1 per mile and any support you can give will be very much appreciated!
As always you will be able to follow my progress on Facebook and Instagram!
