Hi all, we are participating in this challenge to raise money for the Ichthyosis Support Group (ISG), a wonderful charity helping individuals and families living with ichthyosis, a rare genetic skin condition.

The charity is 25 years old this year so we are walking the 25km Thames Bridges Trek - this involves a long walk over 16 historical bridges along the River Thames.

As a family we are directly affected by this condition and over the last 22 years the ISG support has been invaluable for us and by kindly sponsoring us in this challenge, you will be directly helping this charity continue the great work that they do.

There is no cure for ichthyosis; it is a lifelong, unremitting genetic condition which impacts significantly on a person's daily life, requiring tireless application of creams or ointments, and time-consuming bathing routines. It affects a person's physical appearance and, as such, can have a profound psychological impact.
The Ichthyosis Support Group helps raise awareness amongst the public and medical professionals about ichthyosis and provides tremendous support for individuals and families living with the condition. They also support research into ichthyosis.

Thank You !
